Data and deployment
What runs where, and what leaves the building.
“Data Secure” is the name of our machine, not evidence of security. What you can rely on is a precise description of eight things for your own installation, given to you in writing before anything is installed.
What we say about data, precisely
- With a Nizento DS, Atelier OS and your record run on a server in your own office, and carry on over your office network when the internet goes down.
- Harder questions go to a cloud AI service, only with data you approve. Your data schedule names it. Small everyday jobs are being built to run on the DS.
- Your WhatsApp messages and email still travel on their own networks to reach you, as they do today.
- Before anything is installed you receive one page listing what runs on the machine, what is stored on it, and every route by which anything leaves, including our own support access. You decide each line, and both sides sign it.
- We hold no certifications and claim none. We give you the facts of your own installation in writing.
The data schedule
Eight things, answered for your installation.
This is the vocabulary we use. Your schedule answers each row for you, specifically.
| Term | What it means | What we can tell you today |
|---|---|---|
| Local inference | The AI model runs on a machine on your premises. | Not yet. Small everyday jobs, like reading receipts and sorting messages, are being built to run on the DS. Until then the AI runs at a cloud AI service named in your schedule. |
| Local storage | Records and files are kept on that machine or on your own servers. | Your record is kept on your DS. We agree in writing where each kind of record is stored. |
| Cloud processing | Data sent to a service outside the building to be processed. | Harder questions go to a cloud AI service, only with data you approve. Your data schedule names every outside service and says what data it receives. |
| External integrations | Connections to other companies’ systems. | Your WhatsApp, email and calendar travel on their own networks, as now. So do bank alert emails, an online store and SMS. |
| Remote support | Nizento staff reaching your system from outside. | We connect only through named accounts you approve, and you get the list. |
| Backups | Copies kept so the record survives a failure. | With a Nizento DS, an encrypted copy is taken off-site every night. Your schedule says where it is kept. |
| Logs and telemetry | Records of what the system did, and anything it reports back to us. | The audit trail is yours and stays with your record. |
| Software and model updates | New versions of Atelier OS and AI models reaching the machine. | Updates are applied by us, with your approval, on a schedule we agree. |
Deployment
Three places a capability can run.
Every capability on this site that is not yet running says which of these it is intended for.
On your Nizento DS
The server in your own office. Atelier OS runs on it, with your record. Small everyday AI jobs, like reading receipts and sorting messages, are being built to run here too.
Your DS or your own servers
Many capabilities in our planned range, such as approvals by amount or a student record system, are intended to run on either. Your schedule says which.
Needs an outside service
A few cannot work without one: a phone assistant needs a phone network, a fleet tracker needs maps, a marketing desk sends through outside channels. We say so before you choose them.
Every client chooses. Your system online, as it runs today, or on a Nizento DS in your own office. One box per office, always with a Nizento setup, never as a plain computer.
Three phrases we do not use
Until they are true for your installation, and checked.
You will not find these on our site or in our proposals unless they have been made true and tested for a named installation.
“Your data never leaves the device”
Only when every one of the eight items stays on the device, including support, backups, logs and updates, and this has been checked.
“Fully offline”
Only when the system does its whole job with the network cable removed, and has been run that way. Any WhatsApp, bank or store connection makes it false.
“Air-gapped”
Only for a machine that has never been and will never be connected to an outside network, with updates on physical media under a procedure.
